Our Vision
At Kairos on the Lake we provide a private, tranquil destination where guests can disconnect from the noise of daily life and reconnect with nature and each other. We are dedicated to creating an environment that fosters quality time and unforgettable memories.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a key aspect of our life, especially given our unique location on Swartvlei Lake, right next to the Garden Route National Park.
Our sustainability practices are:
- Bee-keeping - our hives support healthy pollination for the many trees on the estate and its surrounds. Bees play a vital role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.
- A Fruit forest- still in its infancy, features fruit-bearing trees and shrubs - part of a thriving biodiversity.
- Water conservation - we use rainwater for irrigation and other non-potable needs.
- Waste reduction - we provide labelled bins for separating recyclables, compost and general waste throughout the property.
- Renewable energy - solar panels harness renewable energy from the sun, reducing reliance on non-renewable sources and lowering our carbon footprint.
- Energy efficiency - we use energy-saving appliances, LED lighting and smart systems to reduce power consumption.
- A circular economy - whether through DIY or maintenance projects, we re-use and re-purpose items, allowing them to serve multiple functions over time.
